I am looking for the old style cat primary fuel filter assembly. It is the one with the re-usable screen filter and is frame mounted. It was used primarily on 379's and w-9's. I have been told this is one of the better designs for elimanating air from the fuel. Does anyone have information regarding this particular style? If not, what would everyone here recommend for a bullet proof primary fuel filter setup?

The Caterpillar filter assembly your talking about is apart number 8H7204 Primary Fuel Filter Group.I have never heard of this filter being good at removing air from fuel. The only other filter i would suggest to install on your truck is a Racor FG1000 and learn how to properly service it.

Do you still have any of the primary fuel filters? Also do you know what size npt fitting the inlet and outlets are?
