I am replacing the timing belt on a four cylinder 1011.The manual is limited . the engine runs fine and this is a maintence item. I have taken it down to where I am suppose to insert the crank and cam pins. I have rotated multiple times and can't get them to align. Is there a certain procedure ie crank pin is inserted first, then cam or vise-versa, I have all the tools, Ijust need to know if I might be leaving a step out. thank scott

im doing the same thing changing a belt on a 3 cyl 1011 now one persons told me i just need the pins and another has told me i need the pins and a belt tension gauge
keith could you maybe shed some light on this situation

I just had a 1011 rebuilt befor it went back in the machine the mechanic quit. I hired another one but we can not seem to get the timing right I need the timing procedures.

Hi, Keith,
I have the same problem,could I also have a copy of that information.I have two belts to change on FL3`s do not know where to insert the locking pins , don`t know why they cannot give this info in the operaters hand book I have phoned Deutz UK and cannot beleive how unhelpful they were.
