I have a 97 psd and when I start it , it will idle and drive just fine. But when it gets about mid temp. it starts to stall. Once it warms up to normal temp it will drive just fine with no problems. I have replaced cps and all my filters and has not cured the problem. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

I suffered this same problem with my 97 power stroke. I changed several things to fix it. I started with all of the fuel and air filters. Following this I ran some injector treatments through the engine (Stanadine). Since this I have learned that it is better to add 1 pint of transmission fluid to each tank every 2 months to lubricate the injectors. Anyway back to the problem, inspect your valve cover gaskets since the injector electrical is run through those and they have I high failure rate. I found that my problem was the Cam Posiition Sensor although everyone was sure that it was good. Be sure that you got a good one from a reputable place (Borg Warner).

Sorry it took so long to get back, but I wanted to make sure everything was all right before responding. I replaced the CPS for a second time thinking that maybe by chance I got a bad one then the truck would not start after replacement, Apparently the computer just needed to be reset. Now the truck starts and drives just fine. Thanks for the help.

I just replaced the Cam Position Sensor and it helped for a while, It started doing the same thing. Had it diagnosed with codes as follows:
PO34O, P0603, P1728, P1283, DEALER SAID I NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND FUEL INJECTOR REGULATOR.
Pump just behind top of motor or pump in lower right had corner of motor. I don't know.
pump part listed on the invoice is F6TZ-9350-A.
Fuel Injector Pressure regulator part # is F81Z-9C968-AB. The pump lists for 117.00 but the pressure regulator is 311.00. where can I get a better price on these?????

Try "the powerstrokeshop.com". I have saved a few $ with body parts and a few engine parts. Also check on the local auto shops like Checker ect. Always ask about the warranty. Cheaper is not always cheaper. For some more technical go to "thedieselstop.com". click on the 'forums section, register [it's free],and ask away. All members are world wide. Might even find someone local to ask questions.

UNplug #22 fuse for 10 minutes. Other way is to remove both battery posts for 10minutes. This rests the computer and allows you to repattern the computer again.

Read your article about reseting the computer. but how would you repattern the computer or does it do it on its own when you rehook up to the battery
