I have a John deere 990 manual trans compact tractor. The clutch sticks for about 2-3 seconds then releases into gear. Is there a way to lubricate throw out bearing ?

I used to work for a John Deere dealer and we had a 770 that did the same thing. I do not know the amount of useage of your tractor but the 770 with the same problem was used about 10 hours a year. The problem is the metal fibers in the clutch disc start to rust and bond to the pressure plate and fly wheel. I would go out to the farm at the beginning of each spring and unstick the clutch, sometimes with a pry bar, other times just by slipping it. I tought the owners to put it in the highest gear, hand throttle it up to about 1,000 to 1,200 RPM. Make sure all of this is done in an open area. Ease out on the clutch while holding down the brakes. You should engage the clutch enough to put a slight load on the engine. This will smooth up the clutch disc, pressrue plate and flywheel. If you will do this every now and then your problem should go away.
