I bought an old 10 hp Petter diesel. I was told that it had Whitworth fasteners. I haven’t started using it yet, but as I have occasionally dropped nuts and bolts into the grass, I thought I’d better find out about availability.

I didn’t see much on the web about obtaining Whitworth fasteners. What happens if I lose or strip a Whitworth?

How difficult and expensive is it to find Whitworth fasteners, and how difficult would it be to modify to SAE?
