Wonder if anyone can help me. I have a machine with Perkins 1004.4 engine. Runs and starts fine. Hardly any smoke under hard work or when standing or even when starting from cold, and starts first time. When coming down hill, plumes of light blue smoke coming out. Injector pump and injectors recently overhauled. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

hey mate

would you please tell me:
1- How many Kms your vehicle run so far?
2- What oil do you use?
3- Did you go for any major overhauling before?

case of oil in your exhaust system is due to oil coming on top of your piston(i.e your valves, valves guide, seats are having problem) or if there is leak in your turbocharger so oil will be coming out with exhaust.

Case of hill it means that when the oil sump is not horizental which means its maybe coming to the area of the liner and might be problem in piston rings.
