My engine has been u/s for about 3 months. First it was a major on the alloy heat exchanger. (Time marches on).Then a drain process on the enormous amount of condension that had developed in both (200lt x 2) tanks, change all filters.

Here's the crunch ! After the filter change and bleed process I hit the starter with an almost start result. The next start was a nothing.(But certainly not a crunch of shattered metal) I then realised that I still had water in the system. I put a bar on the flywheel and got a turn but with difficulty.

Injectors and pump out and serviced (More Time) No injectors- no turn whatsoever with the bar. Enqire to ZF if it was possible the gearbox frozen - NO. Removed starter motor, maybe bendix stripped and jammed NO.

One expert tells me to "squirt in some "Inox" (Aussie WD40) its only minor internal corrosion and regular squirts and the bar over 24 hours itll be all over."
2nd expert (same description of problem) gloom and doom ! bent con rod, hole in the block yada,yada!

Anyone have a comment. The optimist in me says its logical that a small amount of internal rust at piston level on 6 cylinders could easily resist a 65 yr olds efforts on a 2 foot bar. MYDAVE BRISBANE QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
