WHISTLE AND BLACK SMOKE

IM LOOKING FOR SOME ONE WHO COULD LET ME KNOW HOW COME MY GMC DURAMAX 6.6 WANT SMOKE OR WHISTLE, I HAVE THE PREDOTOR PROGRAMMER AND THE 5INCH TO 8INCH FULL THROTLLE EXHUAST, WHEN I PROGRAM IT ON 65 HI TUNE IT SMOKES A LITTLE BUT NOTHING LIKE MY BUDDYS DODGE IS THERE SOMETHING IM NOT DOING?

I really have no idea how your buddys dodge is set up....ANY diesel will smoke if you cram enough fuel into the cylinder. The "problem" with most modern diesel motors is that we are asking them to be as efficient as possible...ie. computerized air, fuel, and timing..... however some want them to be "inefficient" and blow black. My duramax will blow a ridiculous amt of smoke but I also have 100 hp injectors and an edge stacked with a bullydog. There is no logic in running this set-up.....I however am your run of the mill power whore!
As far as whistle is concerned.....if you simply run any aftermarket air induction system ex. AFE, bullydog.....you will notice a very distinct difference in you air intake whistle. I have not had alot of sucess getting the same exhaust whistle out of my GM that can be heard out of a dodge....even with an aftermarket exhaust. The big picture here is if you want whistle and smoke......you need to feed that motor with excessive fuel....and open the airway up on the intake and exhaust side. I am no mechanic mind you I just understand the fundamentals of basic diesel function. Also keep in mind a basic formula.....to make a diesel run hot (strong)...air in-air out....fuel in- fuel out. Any weak link along the way with getting those two elements pushed through the system quickly will result in big time expensive problems....EGT issues...drive train issues etc. One slip of judgment with a stock duramax and the local fire dept. will have to be called in....plain and simple that motor stock is not designed to handle..(nor any stock motor) the amount of fuel stacked chips and the like we buy for them will produce. If you want to build alot of power you need to systematically go through and figure out how much money you'd like to spend....then start the process. I've seem a few people torch a perfectly good motor by being stupid with the wrong combo of parts.
