I have purchased a 1983 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 6.2c code in it. It had a bad head gasket. The guy bought another 6.2 that has a blown rod, that I presume is a j code motor, it has the serp belt setup, my question(s) are: what parts are different ? if I use a head off the j code are they the same or will I have to change both heads ? what parts should I use to make the best possible motor with the most power ? I am planning on putting this motor in a 1984 crew cab dually eventually with a NV 4500. right now it will have a 700R4 from the 83 with the 6.2. And down the road money permitting a turbo.
From what I have read these 6.2's are not the fastest motors but will pull the weight ? In my experience most diesels are the same not real fast but powerful and reliable.

Any help would be appreciated.

'It took at least 4 weeks before we got our first inquiries for the 28 engines we listed - 3 months on we are making 3 to 4 sales per month! We're really pleased and I like the feature that shows how many views our engines get.'

'The engine was on other sites, but we received the most calls from DieselEngineTrader.com. We sold it to the first caller-from DieselEngineTrader.com. Also, there was a waiting list on the engine if the first sale fell through! Thanks for the great service!'

Fran Trapp, South Carolina, USA

'Sold lots of motors through DieselEngineTrader.com. You guys do a great job!'
