I have a 1980 VW diesel Rabbit.
76 k miles
Said to have a failed head gasket.
I want to buy a head gasket on ebay cheap.
Problem is what engine size do I have,1500 or 1600cc?

What I have read is that the 1980 model year was offered with the 1500cc engine and from 81 to 84 the 1600. I would still look over the engine as some where the should be eninge info on one of the door jambs or on the engine itself.

I also advertise in other publications but DieselEngineTrader.com gets the best results and at a great price too! I like the way that my engines are shown at the top of Google searches and DieselEngineTrader.com will definitely be playing a major part in my advertising from now on.'
