I am working on an International road tractor that has a 3406E. It dies while driving in gears 8, 9 ,and 10 in the rpm range of 1700 to 1800. had it on the laptop while driving when it shut down no codes popped up. the owner replaced two injectors in georgia and cam sensor and crank sensor.

Does it die suddenly or spits and sputters? What does the coolant temp read with the computer? Maybe shutting down due to high coolant temp or faulty temp sensor. But the stop engine light will usualy flash.

It does not spit or sputter the temp show 190 to 200 ferenhiet. It is just like you turn off the key. Would a faulty temp sensor not throw a code.

If the coolant temp on ET shows normal temp than the sensor should be fine. Does it start right up agian?

yes after it reaches 0 to 200 rpm. Then you can pop the clutch or tap the starter button.

i had a similar situation on a dump truck, that going down the road would do the same thing. what i found was loose ground wires on the grounding stud on the engine block. tightened it up and made everything just fine

Very good point here desertstorm, I've seen this alot. On the left side of the head, towards the back there is a stud, check it for looseness as well as damaged or loose wires. Check the fuse holders in the battery box as well as the terminal ends for the ECM connections. Open the fuse holders and check for heat damage, even if the fuse isn't blown. Pull the fuses and check pin tension in the holders by inserting one blade of the fuse at a time and pulling it back out. It shouldn't be hard to take out but its shouldn't fall out either. If the terminals are spread it can cause this problem. What year/model international? I'm assuming with this motor its a 2000ish 94/9600? Check or just replace all relays you can find having anything to do with IGN+, ECM, etc. Also if it is an older body style pull down the ignition switch and check for melting on the terminals and connector. The replaced injectors don't really fit in that I can see, were they trying to solve this problem or something else? Doesn't sound like fuel or auto shut-down.
