This started happening last week. Anytime I start up the truck, engine warm or cold, sometimes it'll start up fine, idle for 30 seconds or so, then the fuel filter gauge will slowly drop from the normal range (green) to the out range (red), then go back to the normal range and stay there. The truck will run just fine until I shut the engine off and start it back up, then it'll do the same thing over again. Sometimes it'll take a couple of cranks to get it started.

The injector pump was overhauled a year and a half ago, the fuel filter is changed every 10,000 miles, and I don't see any leaks.

I'm assuming the fuel in the fuel filter is draining out. What can be causing this?

Thanks for any help.

primary fuel filter strainer has a check valve in it that can go bad. also hand priming pump as to check valves in them. they act as a anti-siphon check for your fuel. try looking at them.
