Wondering if anybody has any tricks or knows of a special tool to install the rubber plugs that block off the unused diptick holes in the block? Thanks.

we put 1u8846 gasket maker around the plug, and in the opening of the hole. this lets it push in easier, but seals when plug is push all the way down. does not take much.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did use a permatex gasket sealer for lube and these these are fighting me! I have installed some before, and I remember them going in fairly easy. The plugs I have seem quite a bit larger than the hole. Possibly I was given the wrong part. I will have to check on Monday. I rarely have something so simple give me such a hard time. lol

the ones you should have are big at one end, and tapered at the other. the 3400's look the same at both ends.

I think I probably have the wrong ones. The ones i was sent were not tapered at all. they were the same diameter, with three ribs. One at each end, and one in the middle. Quite a bit bigger than the hole in the block. Thank you.
