my engine had new rings pistons head rod and main bearings done about 4000 hr ago today found out I have a bad valve and small pises came off the top of 1 of my pistons. 2 things 1- what could of happen to have this happen so soon 2- can I change just 1 piston and sleve and not all of them?

yes, you can replace just one hole. but while you have the head off, check your inlet area for peaces of valve that may have been pushed into the inlet area. if the peaces went the other way, you have to check the exhaust piping and the turbo for peaces of valve that may be lodged in them. what serial number is your engine? they made steel pistons for e style engines, but the spray tubes also had to be re-placed when done. how long ago were the valves adjusted? in equipment it's every year or 2000 hours which ever comes first.

THE SPRAY TUBES I WAS REFERRING TO SPRAY OIL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PISTON. LOOKING AT YOUR SERIAL NO. YOU SHOULD HAVE A TWO PEACE PISTON AND SKIRT DESIGN. THAT IS NOT THE ONE I WAS TALKING ABOUT, SO YOU SHOULD BE OK. THE CROWN (TOP) PISTON, IS STEEL, SO YOUR VALVE OR VALVE SEAT PROBABLY WAS THE PROBLEM. CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR BRIDGES ARE NOT HITTING THE TOP OF THE ROTATORS, OR THE VALVES ARE NOT RECESSED BELLOW THE HEAD FAR ENOUGH WHEN VALVES WERE INSTALLED, AND THEY HIT THE TOP OF THE PISTON. THAT ARE SOME POSSIBILITIES. I HAVE ALSO SEEN PEOPLE PUT THE WRONG VALVES IN THE WRONG HOLE, INLET IN EXHAUST AND EXHAUST IN INLET. SOMETHING TO LOOK AT.

'The DieselEngineTrader.com website is great and we'll continue to use it in the future.'

Robyn Hazen, Government Liquidation, Scottsdale, AZ, USA

'The engine was on other sites, but we received the most calls from DieselEngineTrader.com. We sold it to the first caller-from DieselEngineTrader.com. Also, there was a waiting list on the engine if the first sale fell through! Thanks for the great service!'

Fran Trapp, South Carolina, USA

'We've had lots of response from our ads in DieselEngineTrader.com over the years and regularly sell engines from Coast to Coast in USA. Also sold an engine to Germany and several to Canada. We don't need to advertise anywhere else its a great website!'

Darrell Johnson, Johnson Engines, Harrisburg, Illinois, USA
