Hi there. i'm a new member and have got a recently rebuilt cat 3306 running a marine genset that ran in fine after rebuild. now after approx. 20 hours it has low oil pressure. oil pressure under full load at 1580rpm is 26psi and at idle of 700rpm it is 7psi. it had a brand new oil pump fitted when rebuilt. can anyone help? s/n is 85Z03695 and arrangement is 1W3818. would appreciate your help.

I would cut the oil filter open and look for any signs of bearing material. Having only 26 psi at 1580 means there is a fair amount of leakage. It could be an oil pump relief valve problem.
