got a 11.1 that has a slobber on # 6 cly. I did a compression test on all 6 and they did not drop more then a few psi between them, I also changed out #5 with # 6 injector and the problem still stayed at the #6 hole. Could a worn lobe on the cam for the injector cause this ?

Been doing this for 12 years and asked the last question? If it is worn, replace the cam. What do you mean by worn? Gouged and severly scored? small minor scratch marks? Cam worn so bad that it looks like handicap grips on the sides? If the injector fires to late the combustion process will begin but not complete. Did you check the tuneup? We air the cylinders and tap the valves, usually don't do a compression test. Usually have found the problem before the compression test is needed.

Whoops forgot, worn valve guides also will cause wet holes.

dont know about detroits for this situation, but could possibly be on any engine. had a cat c 12 doing that...miss when its cold, then clean up after getting warmed up. tore it down and found a piston rod bent. good luck.
