I know this may be a dumb question but here we go. My bull gear came apart and tore up all my gears, air compressor, and replaced the water pump just because it was leaking. While we had the oil pan off we checked the bearings and they all looked good. Now from time to time when standing behind the stack it sounds like an exhaust valve making noise. Its a intermitten sound sometimes you can hear it - sometimes you cant. Engine is running smooth with the exception of a fuel knock. I think I have a injector overfueling. Can I pull the head and just replace the valve making the noise?

Remove the jakes, rockers. Use a straight edge and go across the valve tops. If you have a bent valve it will show up there also. As for your question, YES. Make sure that you install the same size valve seat as was removed.
