I just bought a Prodriver DC and put it in my 1998 Freightliner FLD120 and everything is computing on it but the fuel and fuel mileage. Is there some setting in the computer that needs to be changed to have it tally the fuel used or what? After I first got it installed it said I'd used 50 gallons and wouldn't keep adding up the fuel used. Then when shut the truck down and came back the next time the fuel was at zero and it wouldn't change. So just don't know why its working with everything else (idle time, miles, cruise...) but the fuel part doesn't work. Any ideas of what I need to do so that I can get that to work?

Prodriver has to be set up with the key on and the engine OFF. Not running or recording. Is the engine computer set up for the VSS 'turned on'? Possibly the setting is turned off so the prodriver is not getting any info from the engine ecm. Hours yes, no mileage. Fuel consumption should be there but miles no. It has been about 8 years since I set one up , just keep that in mind. Set it up for 'owner operator'. Do not set up with a password. You should be able to set it up with the currect mileage on the truck. Reset the trip to set the prodriver up. You can set the oil change interval and the alarm on or off. enjoy.

I guess I don't know what the VSS is? The prodriver keeps track of the miles the truck runs, just not the fuel used. I have cleared out the info on it with the clear function, but it doesn't clear out the driver trip. I don't know if thats causing the problem or not either. But got everything else set up on it and its working fine, just not giving me the MPG that I got the thing for in the first place. There isn't another wire for the fuel is there? Its just the two wires from the computer right and thats suppose to be giving me all that info? As far as setting up with the key on what do you mean? Thanks!
