2006 60 Series Detroit Sterling Truck
We have a Error Code 42 41
the repair center has replaced 2 Sensors and engine wiring harness
check pulse wheel on the crank
for problems and replaced the ECM
they have had for 2 weeks and still no answers
HELP!!!!!mad

What sensors did they replace? The codes are 41 Timing Reference Sensor and 42 Synchronous Reference Sensor. How did they decide which sensors to replace? How are your grounds? Start looking for a grounding issue.......what is the voltage to the ECM?

I have had this problem, solution was replacing main battery cables, & all jumper cables. not sure if this will do it for you. good luck.

We talked to the Repair Shop this morning
and they Replaced the SRS & TRS Sensors
they checked the voltage on the EMC and it is with-in Spec.
at start up the error code is on and there is a large amount of exhaust smoke and after 1 to 2 min the error code goes off
and the exhaust clears up
Thanks for your Help
and the shop is checking the ground cables and batteries

we talked with the repair shop and they replaced batteries and new cables
They are still having the same problem with the engine code
when changeing the oil on August 25, 2010 we found pin(1/4" x 3/4" w Taper on one end) stuck to the drain Plug magnet
the mileage at time of oil Change 119,583 and the mileage today is at 138,452
Emailed to pictures to dealer in august, and repair shop last week
no one is sure what the pin is for?????

The shop called late yesterday and guess what the pin was missing from the Bullgear!
We do have one Question How could this Pin fall out from the Bullgear????

I,ve only ever seen one come out and that was on a reman bullgear , other times they have moved but that was usually caused by bullgear bearings going bad or bent pins when somebody has used it as a lever for what ever reason . Regards David
