I have a reman 12.7 with 590K miles on it. Last year it started putting fuel in the oil. We put dye in the filters, then ran it with the valve cover off and watched it with a UV light. One injector was letting fuel in the oil worse than others, but they all were doing it to some extent. What we found was the injector holes in the cylinder head each had grooves worn where the O-rings sit (not the injector cups, the head itself). We tried a cheap fix by filling in the grooves with steel putty then sanding it down smooth with emery cloth. It lasted about 50K miles and the last oil analysis said there is 10% fuel in the oil. My question is, is there any machine work that can be done to fix these grooves, or is it time for a new head?

Not worth messing with. New head time. Not sure what they used to clean the holes out with or how the groves got there. I usually take a 12 volt pump and pump fuel in the head while the engine is off. Usually its a injector come apart for me.
