Hello fellas , I need some enlightening?... How hard is it to swap and 14 litre into a 92 peterbilt ?basically I'm wondering about electronics ... The swapping the motor in is no problem ... But can I run my DDEC 2 12.7 ECM on the 14 ? Can I swap the engine harness from 12.7 onto the 14 litre ? Would I need to run old style injectors ? Can someone please set my wondering about to rest....wink

A few years ago Pittsburgh Power put a DDEC IV 14L into a DDEC V truck and it supposedly took them 2 weeks to get the wiring figured out. I'm guessing putting a V into a II is going to be at least as much fun. There's a company in Coos Bay, Oregon called Kustom Truck (kustomtruck.com) that specializes in wiring harnesses for gliders and engine conversions. They might have a kit or at least the answers you're looking for. I am curious though, why do you want to put an EGR engine into a pre-emissions truck?

When I get done it will NOT be an egr motor ... I want the bigger displacement and more torque I'm still curious ... Will my 12.7 head fit on the 14litre block ? I want to run my 2 electronics on it ? Maybe change injectors and harness ?

I think it will bolt on to the 14L block but the 14L has that compact gear train and I'm pretty sure the cam/cam gear are 1 piece so you may run into issues with the DDEC V cam in the DDEC IV head...or it may just fit right in. One thing to keep in mind though, once that DDEC V block goes into that truck, as of December 18th, it requires Elogs in the US.
