Still no help or ideas? Our 2004 duramax is not what we would thought it would be.

Has anyone else had problems or heard of any problems with the 2004's?

compression in one of the injectors was down to 1%. Still checking into it. In case anyone cared to know. I haven't had any input wether it be yay or nay on the subject. Not a very helpful site.

Nobody knows about the Duramax's yet, sorry, but we have to learn first. I like the updates, I do want to learn. I havent even gotten to drive one yet.............-Frank ------------------------- 55 Years of combined diesel truck maintenance experience.....

Well, it started to act like normal, then last week, it almost left my husband on the side of the road. It is back in the shop and has been for almost a week. First it's the injectors, then it isn't. Then it's the computer, then it isn't. I would dearly love if they would get us a new truck and send that one back to Michigan so the engineers can rip her apart and find out what is bugging her.

my neighbor has the same truck only problems he has had, when he had the power chip installed somebody done something to screw up the computer, keep in mind the chip voided the warranty, however the dealership ate the bill to reprogram the comp. Then this past winter he had it plugged in sitting in the garage, we had a storm on night and lightning hit his garage and this fried the batteries and the computer, again to keep his business and maybe sell him another truck in the future the dealership ate that bill too, just goes the show you there is that someplaces will go beyond and above to keep their customers happy. When i get ready for a new truck i will have a duramax and it will be purchased at the same dealership.

I have a 2004 and have 20,000 already. the only problem had was the Glow plug module went out. Dealership said it was an update.

I have a 1998 6.5 with 217k (original injecter pump) which im told is a mirical.But my friend bought a duramax he has had head bolts break and injecter problems. He pulls a 4000lb trailer long distance.He has 90k and still running.
