Help please! ! I have a 3406c peec motor serial 4ck20736 that has no power when loaded and not much more empty. Recently had inframe done with new pisons and liners. Also new fuel nozzles. Changed fuel filters, air filters and fuel supply and return lines. Was throwing code for timing sensor so had cat dealer replace also replaced oil sensor. Still nothing, had fuel injection pump checked amd new barrel and pump in number three. Have 40psi on transfer pump. Still no power. Also new carge air cooler.

Pull the front cover and see if they have the cam on the right tooth. They'll run a tooth out but be gutless.

do the engine lost power gradually or suddenly?
what other symptoms/malfunction can you detect?
is the engine turbocharged?.

There is the 2W-4544 timing advance unit that if they did not check the spool and flyweights could give you a power problem. It is also part of the timing when they first pin the injection pump.

Did the power problem happen before or after the inframe? I suspect before as that's how you worded your complaint. After reading your list of repairs and attempts at correcting the power problem and having to believe all work was done properly i suggest you do the following. Have someone with Caterpillar ET or the old ECAP monitor the parameters of the engine while running {timing-rack position-boost-pedal position-etc.}. With the fuel pressure stated along with proper rpm, turbo boost, exhaust temp {800-1000} you should have power. What is the rating of the engine {350-400-460}? You could have a bad boost module or BTM on the governor or timing unit. Check the check engine light for fault codes.
