I have a 1988 KW T800 with a series 60, ive had the truck for a couple years and thought it might benefit from a tune up so i set the valves and injectors and when i got to the jakes i noticed it has Model 765's on it and everything i see in the service information says this engine model (6067GU40) should have 760 or 760A model brakes and that the 765 was only on 1991 and newer engines. i set the exhaust valves to .020" but i dont know what to set the brakes to as the service information say 765s should be .026" which im assuming reflects the newer engines .026" exhaust valve settings. 760/760A should be set to .020". Could this engine have different head on it like one for a 1991 or newer engine? I guess im confused because there is no spec for a pre-1991 engine with 765 model brakes.

A jake setting that is less than the valve setting has no effect on "valve lash". Because what you are really setting when you adjust valves is the clearance between the roller and the camshaft. Once you set the valve clearance you will have proper clearance between the roller and the camshaft even if you set the jakes to 0.00

'Although there are other sites on the internet, DieselEngineTrader.com shows the equipment details very well, is maintained in a professional way and has helped us to sell engines. Keep up the good work!'

Peter van Lelieveld, DELTA TRADING BV Holland

'I had hundreds of "hits" on your website which generated 5 or 6 inquiries from all over the world; Germany, The Philippines, Korea, Sweden, and Spain. I sold all 3 of my engines to a buyer from South Korea. Your website was invaluable to me in selling these engines; no other ads that I ran produced any inquiries.'

Gary Sommerfeld, Manager, Marine Operations, Phillips Cruises & Tours, Anchorage, Alaska

'We listed a Perkins diesel on DieselEngineTrader.com, had numerous inquiries from US and Europe and sold it within a week. Very pleased with your website.'
