IN HOPES THAT SOMEONE HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM B-4. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A G35 1 TON VAN WITH A 6.5 L TD, CK ENG LIGHT WAS ON. DIAGNOSED AND FOUND A CODE FOR THE TEMP SENSOR, REPLACED IT, FOUND A BREAK IN THE WIRE FURTHER UP THE HARNESS, FIXED IT. NEXT, REPLACED A VACUUM PUMP. NOW IT STARTS FINE, IDLES AT 850 RPM OR SO, RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT UNTIL IT WARMS UP. TEMP UP TO 165 DEG. F, ALL IS OK, IDLE SLOWLY COMES DOWN TO AROUND 600 RPM, THEN WHEN TEMP GETS TO AROUND 175 DEG. F, THE TROUBLE STARTS. ENGINE BUCKS, WONT MAINTAIN IDLE,AND STALLS. IT CAN BE KEPT RUNNING WITH ONE FOOT ON THE GAS, OTHER ON THE BRAKE, AND IT CAN BE DRIVEN. LITTLE STUMBLING , LOT OF SMOKE WHEN GASSING, THEN IT BUCKS, DOWNSHIFT AND THE TURBO WHINES, SMOKE DISAPPEARS...AND IT GOES LIKE MAD. LET OFF THE GAS, STILL OK, HIT THE BRAKES AND THERE IS A NOTICABLE DRFOP IN ENGINE SPEED. I CHECKED THE CODES AND FOUND, INJECTOR TIMING MALFUNCTION, INJECTOR PUMP TIMING OFFSET, AND TURBO SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE. EVENTUALLY IT GOES INTO LIMP MODE, NO OD, NO POWER. I HAVE BEEN UNPLUGING THE TEMP SENS TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT. ONLY CODE THAT SHOWS IS FOR THE TEMP SENSOR. I REPLACED THE PMD WITH A REMOTE MOUNT HOPING THAT WAS IT, AND IT WAS NOT. I HAVE AN APPT WITH A SHOP TO GET HOOKED UP TO A TECH-2 AND CHECK TIMING, BUTI WAS HOPING SOMEONE HERE HAS SEEN THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND MAY BE ABLE TO POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THANKS,
PAUL K.

this kind of problem seem to me as a bad fuel supply or clogged filter maybe water in fuel

start troubleshooting by installing a fuel supply pressure gauge. sometimes lift pump can work well cold but when it get hot it may supply not enough fuel and cause a lot of trouble.

when your engine works bad (like its hot) try to open the filter bleeder and turn the key on. fuel should spray at 2" HIGH that will indicate your pump works well and fuel filter keeps full.

I had to put air pressure to the fuel tank to get filter filled and then put air back to the filter few time to unclog supply line.
hopes this will help you

I also advertise in other publications but DieselEngineTrader.com gets the best results and at a great price too! 'We had a Mercedes engine in stock for over a year but were unable to sell it in Belgium - it was an unusual specification for generator use. Once we listed it on DieselEngineTrader.com, we sold it to a customer in England! We get regular enquiries from customers across the world.'
