99 century series60 12.7 has developed a squealing sound on acceleratiin in lower gears.also when downshifting when bringing up rpms.no sound at higher speeds .any ideas?almost sounds similar to power steering in an automobile.is this a sign of a costly repair?

Does the squealing go away as soon as you let off the gas? If so, I have a similiar problem. It seems to mainly happen when it's cold out. I've had this problem for quite sometime so if yours is also a cold only thing, you may not need to worry about it. But you should be able to find a mechanic to at least diagnose it for free.
