Need to source lightweight engine for use on a 30ft hovercraft. Require aprox 280 hp, but engine needs to be as light as possible.(1200 lb max)
Looked at petrol engines but no use in the very hot weather here.
Can anyone advise me on possible engines
Thanks

Well,
The Canadian Coast Guard has had a long standing success with the DEUTZ Air-Cooled Series engines in their Hovercraft.

Might be worth looking into.

The Navistar DT530E is from 280-330 HP and its weight is 1400 LBS, Great torque, parts are everywhere, the only other option is a pumped up B or a C series Cummins, the Deutz engine range for this would be a 1015 @ 3000 + lbs

'We've sold 7 engines in 4 months through DieselEngineTrader.com - one to Utah, three to South Dakota, one to New York, one to Kansas and one locally in Wisconsin! I also advertise in other publications but DieselEngineTrader.com gets the best results and at a great price too! I like the way that my engines are shown at the top of Google searches and DieselEngineTrader.com will definitely be playing a major part in my advertising from now on.'

'Sold a Detroit 6V92 to a customer in Chicago after listing it on DieselEngineTrader.com for only 3 months. - I'm delighted as we had the engine for 10 years!'

Charlie Simon, Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison, USA

'Listed a Perkins T6.354 on DieselEngineTrader and sold it after 5 month. With a listing fee of $5.00 per month and no commission, it was much cheaper and more effective than the magazine we also used.'
