am looking for a bit of practical info on the 6.2 as mine if set at about 1500 rpm will all of a sudden jump in revs, todate mainly noticed in neutral but also found it will do it in changes of rpm running ie going up say in 500 rpm stages it seems to be unstable for a while then settles down, does this happen in an onroad application or not??

I have only seen this once on a highway vehicle.The truck was very high mileage,327,000 miles which would be about 8,000 hours at a guese.The problem was govenor creep from a severly worn rack.Start with a pump inspection.Hope this helps.

hi,
hope that is not the problem as this engine has only done 10 hours since major rebuild, injector pump was rebuilt!!!??
cost me enough at the time.
