CAN ANYBODY HELP ?
I HAVE A BOSCH VARIABLE SPEED (TRUCK SPEC) INJECTOR PUMP ON A PERKINS 1006 TURBO ENGINE, I HAVE CONVERTED THE ENGINE AND IT IS NOW RUNNING A GENERATOR APPROX 90KVA. I NEED TO SET THE PUMP AT A GOVERNED SPEED OF 1560RPM, BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ORIGINAL PUMP WILL ONLY GOVERN AT IDLE RPM AND MAX RPM , IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN DO IT TO ACHIEVE A PROPER GOVERNED SPEED TO CONTROL THE GENSET WHEN IT COMES ON AND OFF LOAD ??

Morning. This is an easy problem to fix......the pumps govonor must be converted fron automotive to industrial.........the droop range for most auto govonors id about 10%.........droop for industrial is about 5%.......A class govorning is about 3 %.......so you could expect about 50 rpm difference betweem load and no load conditions on your engine.........Depending on you govonor type already fitted, this can be achieved by modifying your existing Gov or changing to a new setup.........hope this helps....Johnno

Hi Johnno

thanks for your help on the govenor settings. The pump I have is a bosch type 0460 426 088 variable speed (truck spec).
Can you suggest the correct method of altering this pump ? It has one main governing spring and one small idle spring. My local injection pump specialist seems to know nothing on changing the speed / governing on this particular pump. There is only one location hole for the spring to sit in , therefore, is it a simple spring change ? if so what type, or is there more to it ? appreciating your help,
thanks
