A friend of mine has a 1994 Volvo with, I believe, an N14. Where are the rear mounts on that engine?

He presently has a Super 10 but is replacing it with a 13 speed. He asked my advice, but I have a Freightliner with a Detroit.

From the pictures he sent me, it looks like the bell housing on the back of the Cummins is different and I'm wondering if he needs to place supports under the Cummins in order to change the transmission.

MOST MOTOR MOUNTS FOR THE VOLVO'S ARE ACTUALLY ON THE TRANS. YOU WILL HAVE TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE IF THE TRANS IS TO COME OUT.

The photos he sent me weren't too clear, but they were clear enough that I suspected just what you've told me.

Sure makes it tougher than on my Freightliner with the Detroit. The mounts are on the flywheel cover and the trans comes out easily enough.

hello the volvo rear mounts are on the transmission not the engine all he will have to do once the trans is removed is change trans bell housing and its done
