Hi,

I have acquired a 2005 Caterpillar 3408 ENGINE. It came out of a CAT 637. It had a droped vales and a few other issues that where repaired.

How do I go about bench testing it, Any advise would be appreciated

I use to work for a rebuild company before they had a dyno we just had a rack bolted on the front and one bolted on the rear and put a garden hose to the water in let and plug all the holes in the water but rad. out and let the water run slowly through it and start it and run it. Just take the pilot bearing out of the flywheel. It hurts if it flys out.

'I listed a surplus Watermota diesel on DieselEngineTrader. It took a few months to sell, but I was delighted as the engine was quite obscure and I never thought anyone would buy it!'
