I have a Cummins 4-390 engine in a Case 580k backhoe, with a engine oil leak. It appears to be the rear main seal as it is leaking from the bottom of the torque converter housing. I am told this seal seldom leaks much if at all.My leak is sporatic and seems to dump when coming off the throttle( maybe 1 fl. once or more in a 2-3 second spurt) I also have high oil pressure 60-70 psi at idle and 90-100 at 2000 rpm. I'm told the cam shaft plug, sealing the cam bore may be the sourceof the leak. Any shared expierence on this problem would be appreiated.
