ONCE again, the truck is in the shop. The truck (94 C3500) has 120,0750 miles on it. WELL maintained (pay me now or pay me later.) Very little towing. The fuel pump has been changed at least 6 times and now the truck is back in the shop for the same thing. I have been a diesel and gas engine mechanic for 35 years but retired in 91 so it's pretty hard to BS me. I have had it to numerous GM shops for the same problem & finally found a shop in this area (we moved) that some "clue" and is willing to work with you. I had one GM dealer that tried to charge me $600.00 to drop the fuel tank, change the fuel filter, replace the rail pump, several injectors and all the glow plugs, bla bla. All stuff I had just checked. I made the mech show me the spray pattern on the injectors..........they were perfect. "Somehow" the rail pump, glow plugs, etc came up missing. (I didn't pay) Even though it is out of waranty by 750 (more or less) miles, the shop went to bat for me and they changed the pump controller for free. Started home with it and it still had the "micro miss" in it. It's like you turn off the fuel or ign switch for literally a fraction of a second. I know other people are having the same problem. Any advice or questions before you venture a possible solution. Even though the truck is paid for, I can't afford to replace it with something else. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance,

Sorry, I also meant to say it was a 6.5 turbo. I just made the assumption (you all know what happens when you do that) that you would know that information from the post. Also, I have had a problem with the flexible "rubber hose" that acts as an oil return line from the turbo back to the oil pan. No matter what I seem to do, (including replacement) it wants to leak. Anyone else have that problem?
thx,

Got the truck back from the shop. They said they found an itermittent electrical connection to the pump controler. So far it's running great. Wonder if that has been the problem all along. They never did find a pump failure when they changed out the last 3 but when they changed pumps, the problem always went away for awile. Just keeping you updated.
