Hi all I'm after some info I've got a 14l ddec3 running a gt4702bjns turbo Detroit part #23524076 @505hp non egr she's leaking oil out of the intake and was wondering if a BW 171702 would be a good turbo to replace it with. Bearing in mind that factory turbo is wastegated but the BW isn't. Will the 14l overspool the turbo?
Thanks for all input Cheers sgottabeford.

I had a 171702 on my 14L and it worked pretty good. Not a whole lot of improvement over the stock turbo though. I put a 177287 on and then it came to life but I had a 550 with upgraded cam and injectors when I first put it on. What year is yours? Until now I thought the 14Ls were ddec 4 or higher.

Hi mate she's a 2001 iveco I'm in Australia. I think some of our parts and number designations might be a couple of years behind the states. Yeah I thought it was a ddec4 when I bought it but all the searches for this turbo come back as ddec3. The 177287 is it wastegated ? Thanks Clive.

There's no wastegate on the 177287 but I believe you can put an external wastegate on them. You'll notice a slight turbo lag but a high flow manifold and some high flow mufflers will take care of that. I've read that doing the manifold, turbo and mufflers together gets you around 100hp

'I listed a surplus Watermota diesel on DieselEngineTrader. It took a few months to sell, but I was delighted as the engine was quite obscure and I never thought anyone would buy it!'

'We've sold 7 engines in 4 months through DieselEngineTrader.com - one to Utah, three to South Dakota, one to New York, one to Kansas and one locally in Wisconsin! I also advertise in other publications but DieselEngineTrader.com gets the best results and at a great price too! I like the way that my engines are shown at the top of Google searches and DieselEngineTrader.com will definitely be playing a major part in my advertising from now on.'
