I'm just wondering if anyone (hopefully Grampa) has any tips for a first time sled puller? Like what gear should I start in? When I take off, do I hold it wide open and just dump the clutch or ease into it? It's a 2000 Western Star with a 14L Series 60. 7473 injectors, high flow manifold/mufflers. 177287 borg warner turbo. The ECM is wide open and set at 4000rpm (too much?). 18 speed Eaton with 3.90 rears and a Lipe clutch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

When you say wide open do you mean rpm or fuel? rpm is set at 4000 what is your fuel set at?

I couldn't tell you exactly. I just sent my ecm away with a list of what I had done to the engine and told the company to write me the best race tune they could. I'm sure if it was sitting on a dyno they could dial it in a little better

'We sold a German engine to a company in Norway and shipped it from the US to Dubai! DieselEngineTrader.com provides a truly global service.'

Rob Stone, Williams Detroit Diesel-Allison, Birmingham, Alabama, USA

'We sold a Turbo in 2 weeks to a guy in Houston! We also sold the first engine we listed - an old Hatz. It took 2 months to sell but that was OK as we couldn't move it locally. We track visitors to our website and we get lots from DieselEngineTrader.com. Your website really works, it's a great service and we'll be using DieselEngineTrader.com for years to come!'

Brad Marcak, Powerpro Texas, USA

'I listed a surplus Watermota diesel on DieselEngineTrader. It took a few months to sell, but I was delighted as the engine was quite obscure and I never thought anyone would buy it!'
