I have a 1992 CAT 3116 250-HP with only 68,000 miles, which according to the CAT Service Center, needs to be rebuilt. Since the 3116 does not have liners, my choices are to R&R the engine and either rebuild or install a reman. Since the engine is in a diesel pusher motorhome, removing the engine is a LOT OF WORK. Does anyone know a machine shop that still does in-frame boring and sleeving. I am not sure if the cylinders will clean up for 50 over pistons and therefore might require to be bored and sleeved. Thanks from California........Mike
