I am having trouble locating this information online. Can anyone tell me how to set the time on a Deutz F3L1011 Series engine?

It keeps bending the push rods.

Thanks in advance!

The procedure is not too complicated, however you will require some special tools that require you to lock in your Cam as well as the crankshaft. If this is not done, you are guaranteed to bend your pushrods everytime. The great thing about these engines, is that they are somewhat of a non-interference design, hence you normally do not have valve contact when this happens. A pretty ingenious way to save the end user from having catastrophic failures.
Send me an email at macmasterj@dacie.ca whereby I will be able to send to you the set-up procedure. If you are not mechanically inclined, I would recommend you see your local Deutz Distributor or Dealer, as this will save you having to buy these tools.
