I am working on a BC3 CPL633 that was changed to a CPL625 pulled it down because of coolant leaks from under the heads. I found 2 pistons with small cracks in the head about in line with the injector spray pattern other than that the piston skirts are like new. There is a lot of carbon build up on the pistons and heads. The liners are polished real shiny and after pulling them and seeing the pitting i think someone put new pistons on old liners i pulled cam followers due to leaking. I know when changing to 400hp the timing should have been changed, looking at the book they call for a different cam key. Do you have to change the key or can you reset the timing with the follower gaskets. I have the tooling for setting timing and have done it before.

Anymore than 0.030 thou on injection timing you will need to change key or reverse it . If using cpl 625 always have fuel timing on the high side of spec Regards David
