I am looking for examples of online monitoring Technolgy (IF ANY) that can be used on Diesel Engine that drives fire water pumps. I know this isn't feasible since the engines are not continuously in operation, but I would like to know if new development in this area is taking place to better protect fire water diesel engine?

In addition, I am looking for types for portable diagnostic tools that can be used to conduct predictive maintenance on the engine.

Engines Spec: Caterpillar: 3406B DITA / 3406B / 3406 DITA- P2520
1760 and 1800 rated max speed
Four cycle
313/359/343 power/kw

GENESIS for monitoring Technology: Catastropic mechanical failure when the #4 connecting rod bolts and piston broke casuing the failed parts to be ejected through the side of the crank case. A fire subsequently occurred as a result of the fuel and oil vapor mist being atmomized by the radiator fan.

Thank you in advance. smile
