Hi Ive found sometimes a valve set makes a differnce on those if you havent done so yet
or check your fuel pressure or bubbles in the return ... found the primer pump check valves to be plugging or comeing out of their staked area some times. does your boost pressure still
get as high as it used to? Turbos do get weak as well not to mention worn injectors for a hundred a peice.... hopefully its the easy stuff!!

sktech is right.Older b models are very fussy about valve adjustment. The higher the mileage, the more often they need it,and its usually neglected by owners as too expensive or unneccesary.nozzles are also a likley culprit for that year and model.Ive also seen the check valve problem he mentioneed. You can check that by hooking a fuel preasure gauge at the primer pump, there is usually a 1/8" pipe plug located there for that purpose. If you dont see 40 p.s.i. ,then the check valves not holding or the transfer pump is weak. You said you reset the air fuel ratio control.Did you replace the diagphram.Ive seen quite a few with holes too small to see without a magnifying glass that would make excessive smoke, low power and high pyro temp.Torn diagphrams are most common when someone has been making theyre own rack and air fuel adjustments, but they also just get old.Get the owner to pay for a valve adjustment and a full pump adjustment first. You'll drive youreself nuts looking at the nitty gritty if the foundations not solid to start with.

If your compression is low this can happen. If it is hard to start, check your compression. and if you are blowing out alot of black suit then your fuel injector pressure is not high enough. that will cause black suit and loss of power also.
