I have a 98 Detroit that is turning the fuel black and has an awful bad raw fuel smell at idle. Bad enough that you don't want to be down wind of it.

From the wealth of knowledge posted here I have come to the conclusion that I need to check for air in the fuel line and change all the injector seals.

Is there anything else I should be doing as well?

Would like to make this old girl a little more socially acceptable so to speak.... and I prefer not to reek of diesel fumes. smile

'DieselEngineTrader.com is a very good resource. I use it to search for engines I need and have also advertised a Volvo Penta engine and received some genuine enquiries. Our local market is small and DieselEngineTrader.com helps me to reach a worldwide market.'

Dimitris Constantinou, Limassol, Cyprus

'We've had lots of response from our ads in DieselEngineTrader.com over the years and regularly sell engines from Coast to Coast in USA. Also sold an engine to Germany and several to Canada. We don't need to advertise anywhere else its a great website!'

Darrell Johnson, Johnson Engines, Harrisburg, Illinois, USA

'We've sold a number of engines via DieselEngineTrader.com - even some that we've had lying around for a few years! It's very useful in getting our inventory seen by a much larger market.'

Jackie Read, A J Diesels Ltd, Southampton, UK
