My series 60 is a 430 HP model with 640,000 miles on it. It runs great and only uses 1 gal. of oil in 15,000 miles. My problem is, when I idle the engine for extended periods, motor oil will actually drain from the joints of the exhaust pipe. My first thought is that something is wrong with the turbo. Any ideas?

Hi,
how difficult is it to remove the exhaust from the turbo??
look inside and see if it looks oily on the spindle of the turbo would suggest leaking oil at bearing seals!!

You need to check the turbo for sure. I would bet a paycheck the seals are shot.

when stopped set your idle at about 1000-1100 rpm sounds like alot but it will not sling oil out of the exhaust.

I agree with cowbell. bump your idle up. Theese engines are real slobber buckets anyway.

'Congratulations on your increasing traffic at web page. I keep several address slips I've made up for your web page and have had occasion to hand out 25-30 to persons needing an engine or having one to sell.'

Cal Harvey, Triangle Agriculture

'I had hundreds of "hits" on your website which generated 5 or 6 inquiries from all over the world; Germany, The Philippines, Korea, Sweden, and Spain. I sold all 3 of my engines to a buyer from South Korea. Your website was invaluable to me in selling these engines; no other ads that I ran produced any inquiries.'
