I have a 1996 Freightliner with 3406E engine that loose power after take off. Runs fine on idle and up to 55 MPH. After that RPM is only up to 1200.

Took it to CAT dealer and was told to replace the cam shaft and a rocker as they were scored. Did not make any difference after replacement. Also took it to Freightliner dealer and was told to replace injector 5 and 6 as "isolated air in return from rear injectors". Replaced injectors and still no luck.

Appreciate any advise.

Do you have a restriction gage in the fuel system before the lift pump? If not I would put one in it and drive it to see how much vac. it pulls when you loose power. Should have a pressure gage after lift like on fuel head and check pressure too. Check air charger and hoses. See what you find. Seen hand primmer pumps do some strange things.
