Hi everyone, i hope you can solve or help to solve the prob im having with my inboard marine Yamaha 3.7 ltr turbo diesel engine which has lost power !!.
While out cruising the engine dropped power and revs ie/ norm-3000revs,23 knots.....Now is 2000revs,6 knots with added black smoke which isnt has bad.The turbo doesnt seem to be kicking in.norm at 1500revs but i can turn the turbo by hand.
The boat did get abused before i purchased it resulting in me renewing fuel filters, could this prob be caused by a dirty oil filter and oil which i havent got round to changing yet !!
I hope someone out there can help me Pleeeeeease! thanks for your help and lookforward to your replies.
Derek.
