05 isx 475 hp. started running bad, blowing white smoke out exhaust, and raw fuel coming out exhaust. cummins told me 456 injectors weren't firing, today say #4 is bad and needs replaced. if one injector goes bad, can it cause 2 more to stop working?

Sounds like you took a tip off No4 and because isx/sig work in banks of three ( 123 front bank 456 rear bank ) one faulty injector will effect the other two in that bank Regards David

It's a lot of work and it seems to always take several days to get it done properly. I just paid $1200 for a cam. What is their shop rate?

Problem is The Cummins ISX camshafts. This has been an ongoing problem. One thing for sure, you have to use the reccomended oil because that seems to always be the blame.....although I don't think I ever heard of any other engine that ate up so many cams as the ISX.

I,d have to agree Joe - they,re running the new isxe5 over here now with single overhead camshaft common rail wastegate turbo with def and they are what cummins should have had years ago instead of the vgt and egr era . Smooth clean engine with extra horsepower Regards David

Thanks guys, got the truck back yesterday and it seemed to run better, and I negotiated the final bill down from 5k to $4,700. because I didn't think it was fair charging $300. for there "diagonistic" that did nothing but delay the repair by a day,and diagnose the #4 injector bad when it wasn't. So that's the good news, the bad, by the time I drove it home there was a BOL,, big oil leak coming from the front passenger side of the engine, so back to Crosspoint Indy it went, park it on the fence line they said, didn't have time to look at it today, ug!! Then the ultimate insult, these people at Cummins Crosspoint Indy would not even supply me with a ride 4 blocks back to my car!! They said the didn't supply rides even though there web site said, quote "Transportation is available upon request (within a limited area)." My advise is if your Cummins is out of warrenty, DO NOT take it to a Cummins Crosspoint facility, or at least not the one in Indianapolis. Anyone know a good Cummins Tech. in or near the Indy area? I've been a Detroit man but when I upgraded I found this truck that seemed to be a good deal, but I'm finding if it's to good to be true, it probably isn't.disgusted

dealerships have to go step by step warranty or not and dealerships don't get paid buy cummins for time on phone with tech support. its crap cummins warranty is always a fight paying a bill. so that 300 dollars was the time used by the tech on unapplied time so they tried getting you for it!! good eye an caught it its not your bill to eat let the dealers take it to the chin once maybe they will learn to treat you as a customer instead of $$$$$$ that's all they care about is money and getting paid
