hello. i have a 2000 freightliner with a c12 caterpillar. lost oil pressure. crankcase full of diesel. engine seems fine except injector leaking from top o-ring on 1st cylinder. decided to replace o-rings on all cylinders, (they have all had the same life, right?). i have never done this before. there is suppose to be 3 o-rings per injector. i have removed injectors for cylinders 1 and 2. my concern is that the two injectors i removed did NOT have the little o-ring on the end. can i just pull all six injectors, make sure i don't see anything obvious, put new o-rings on them and reinstall? i was going to do that, adjust injectors and valves, change oil and filter, and try engine again. engine seemed okay before except i thought i should have had a little better fuel mileage and power. i am having a hard time trying to figure out what to do with google. thanks. wes

You can pull all 6 and replace the orings. Bottom oring is a carbon dam. It will eventually turn to carbon or burn off. Suck the diesel out of the cylinders before installing the injectors. Clean the bores. Make sure the bottom where the injector body seats into the head is free of carbon. Replace all 6 injector bolts. Change oil and filter. Adjust all overhead settings. I clean the injector body and tip in clean diesel or solvent using a red scotchbrite pad, I stay away from the spray holes
