OK. I have a f3l 1011 engine in a vermeer lm 40 trencher. It was turned on it's side and run out of oil. Of course this knocked the #2 and #3 rod bearings right out. I had the crank welded and reground. Rebuilt the engine using all Duetz parts and assembled to factory specs using the service manual. The engine starts easily and runs. The problem is that it has a miss on #3' and smokes like raw fuel. Compression is 420psi, valves are ajusted correctly, and both the injection pumps and injectors are fine. What am I missing? Please help!

You must check the injection pump the shim adjustment could be wrong.
This will cause incorrect timing.
