I have n14 recon engine with about 500,000 on it. It has never run quite right. I had a new injector put in a month ago. It seemed to help. I had rack run and injectors reset. Then about two weeks ago running down the road at 1500 rpms I was going to pass a car. I pushed the throttle to the floor and the motor stalled out. My speed went down, rpms went down, boost went down. I let off on the throttle just a bit and engine responded again. I pushed throttle to floor again and same thing happened. It does not do it all a time, just more after I have been driving for a while. I can be loaded or empty, makes no difference. I changed the potentiometer. It did not make any difference. Fuel restriction gauge is good, 5 pds. Fuel pressure is 150psi,have fuel pressure gauge from pump to my cab so I can monitor it. The foot feed is wired directly to ecm connectors. The grounds are good. I cleaned all battery posts and connectors. Any ideas? Really frustrated!!!!

I would think it is more than likely your foot feed sensor or an ECM issue.

I replaced the foot feed sensor. It still does it sometimes. Maybe got a bad foot feed sensor. I was reading that n14 ecm can have issues like that,, with injector firing. Also that ecm will shut down fuel to injectors if ecm thinks there is an issue. But also read wiring to and from ecm. I have replaced injector harness and harness from firewall to ecm a couple years ago. Any way to narrow in on ecm issue? Do you have some tips? Thanks for reply. Nels.

Nels

Have you had your ECM plugged in and read for any error codes?
