C15 6NZ47439 oil in water, i guess the oil cooler is the best place to start. can u have these tested, any ideas would be helpful. also I've had to change the water pump a couple of times in this engine 3 times in 7 years what could i be causing this to happen. Thanx Steve

Any decent radiator shop can test an oil cooler. Oil cooler usually puts a large amount of oil in the cooling system and will go both ways. We made a tester out of 2 small pates bolted to the bottom one with a air pressure tap for a regulator and hose the other just a block off plate. Usually when the water pump has multiple failures it is because your cooling system is not very clean and very small debris of some type are getting into the seal. If the water pump weep hole is plugged you may be getting coolant in the oil, oil in the coolant this way as well. If you to decide to go after the oil cooler have it tested. If it is ok you will have to reinstall it. Refill the cooling system with water and drop the oil pan to determine where it is coming from. If it is a very small amount of black film in the top radiator tank I would lean towards a head gasket failure
