You won't need most of the wires you have under the hood.... 12v for the pump, 12v for the glow plug system, wire the gauges and that early 7.3 will run. There are a couple other things that should be researched like a cold start advance on the pump, and your charging system. But it will run without all that electronic junk. ------------------------- gregory l ralyea

Swapping a 7.3 diesel motor from a 1991 Ford into a 1994 Ford F-250 4x4 can be done, but it may require some modifications and adjustments. Here are some considerations for the engine swap:

Compatibility: The 1991 7.3 diesel engine should be compatible with the 1994 Ford F-250, as both engines belong to the same generation and have similar configurations. However, there might be some differences in wiring harnesses, sensors, and accessories between the two model years.

Wiring: You will need to compare the wiring diagrams for both engines and determine if any modifications are necessary. It's likely that you'll need to make adjustments to the wiring harness to accommodate the differences between the two model years. You may also need to modify or adapt certain connectors or sensors to ensure compatibility.

Engine Mounts: Check if the engine mounts from the 1991 engine will align properly with the mounting points in the 1994 F-250. If there are any discrepancies, you may need to fabricate or purchase different mounts to ensure a secure fit.

Transmission Compatibility: Verify if the transmission in the 1994 F-250 is compatible with the 1991 engine. The bolt pattern, torque converter, and other specifications should match. If there are any differences, you may need to make modifications or consider swapping the transmission as well.

Accessories and Ancillaries: Compare the accessories and ancillary components (such as the alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor, etc.) between the two engines. Ensure that they are compatible and can be properly connected to the respective systems in the 1994 F-250. You may need to transfer parts or make adjustments to ensure everything works correctly.

Emissions and Legalities: Depending on your location, there may be emissions regulations and legal requirements to consider when swapping engines. Make sure to research and comply with any applicable laws and regulations to avoid any legal issues.

It's essential to have the appropriate technical knowledge, tools, and resources to successfully complete an engine swap. If you're not experienced with this type of work, it may be best to consult with a knowledgeable mechanic or an automotive specialist who can guide you through the process and ensure a smooth and successful engine swap.
